The Grade five scholarship examination will not be held from the year 2016, the Education Minister stated. 

Minister Gunawardena said that it will not be necessary to conduct the Scholarship Examinations from 2016 as the '1000 secondary schools development project' carried out under the Ministry of Education will be completed by then.
