Wet weather will prevail due to the atmospheric disturbances in the vicinity of Sri Lanka. Showers or thundershowers will be fairly widespread over the island particularly during the afternoon and night says the latest forecast issued by the Met department.
Meanwhile the sun will be positioned directly over the Island due to its apparent southward relative motion. The sun is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 28th of August and 07th of September in this year.
The sun will be overhead at 12:12 noon tomorrow (30th) at Mannar, Puliyankulam and Pulmuddai.
The forecast also predicts possible heavy rainfall at places while temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The general public is requested to take precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning.
The deep sea areas to the south of southern coast will be rough at times.
