he Fundamental Rights petition—citing that 600 families would lose their homes due to a housing project that is to take place on a 7.5 acre plot of land in Slave Island—was taken up for consideration once again at the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Parliamentarian Sujeewa Senasinghe represented the petitioners.
The petition seeks relief for the residents in question.
As Attorney General Mohan Peiris did not appear in court for the hearing of the petition, the petition was postponed till September 23.
