The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) said today that the alliance is yet to make a decision on participating in the Parliament Select Committee appointed to study and make relevant changes to the 13th amendment. “It is not a Parliament Select committee, but rather a government select committee.

However, we still have not met or made a decision on our participation in the process. We will give serious thought into the prospect of participating in it” R. Sambathan the leader of the TNA said.

Speaking Sambanthan reiterated that the party will not compromise on its stand regarding the powers vested in Provincial Councils through the 13th amendment.

“There would be no compromise in our stance. Land and Police powers have to be granted to the Provincial Councils as per the provisions laid down in the constitution” he said.
