A fourteen-year-old girl has committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor of an apartment building in Dematagoda. Police believe that a disagreement with her father about a relationship she was in, led to her untimely death.
Meanwhile, a youth in Wellawaya has been killed after being drowned in Deduru Oya.
The deceased has been identified as a 19-year-old boy from Vadurassa, Thabagalla.
Police say that the incident occurred on the evening of August 10 when the victim, along with his family and two friends went to bathe in the Deduru Oya. Police are conducting further investigations.
