Early in the morning today at the Katunayake International Airport, a person is arrested by the Customs Officials for hiding $34,600 Valuing to 46 Lakhs and 8 Thousand Rupees in his baggage and trying to go abroad.
The Passenger was caught just before he leaves for abroad by the Customs Officials of the Katunayake International airport.
This suspected passenger belongs to the Gampaha Imbulgoda area. From him all the American Dollars were confiscated and seized by the Customs officials of the Katunayake International Airport and these Dollars have been deposited with the Government.
In addition to this the passenger has been levied with a penalty fine of Rupees One Lakh.
