Twenty four Indian fishermen who were arrested for illegally crossing Sri Lanka's maritime boundary and engaging in fishing activities are to be handed over to Indian authorities today.
Navy Spokesman Lieutenant Commander Janaka Gunawardene said that the group of fishermen will be handed over to the Indian Coast Guard at the international maritime boundary located off the coast of Mannar at around 3 this afternoon.
Prisons Spokesman Commissioner G.B.Kulatunga stated that the Indian fishermen had been granted bail by the Sri Lankan courts.
The group of fishermen were arrested on the 5th of last month while they were engaged in illegal fishing activities.
