The Customs Department has commenced investigations into the illegal importation of birth control injection worth Rs.30 million.
The Pakistani businessman in question was taken into custody yesterday in close proximity to the Fort Railway Station.
The suspect had been questioned till Midnight Friday and he had revealed that another individual had provided the funding to import the injections along with a stock of potatoes.
Investigations are continuing to confirm the statements made by the suspect.
According to the customs Director Mali Piyasena the second suspect is believed to be overseas.
Two other individuals who are arrested after the stock of injections were discovered with a stock of potatoes have been released on personal bail.
